Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a gross porosity and to eliminate the need for operation for deburring by forming an air vent groove to at least a ceiling section or a floor section of an outer lead draw-out path along the outer lead draw-out path and rapidly supplying a resin extending over the whole region in a cavity while easily venting air in the cavity. CONSTITUTION:Since the air vent groove 29 is formed to the ceiling section or floor section of the outer lead draw-out path 28, air existing in the cavity 24 is pushed into the lead frame root section 23a side of an outer lead 27 by the resin injected from a gate 25, intrudes to a welding section 23b as the lower section of the lead frame root section 23a, rises along the lower surface of the outer lead 27, and flows out to the outside extremely rapidly from the air vent groove 29. Since the depth L1 and width L2 of the air vent groove 29 are set to values smaller than the thickness and width of the outer lead 27, the quantity of the resin flowing out of the air vent groove 29 is reduced extremely, and the generation of a large thickness burr is prevented.
