Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor controller and air conditioner that are capable of eliminating a problem such as overcurrent generated in association with brake control, without providing a check valve at a compressor.SOLUTION: A motor controller performs deceleration operation in a compressor stop delay time interval Td according to a stop command Cs before turning off all switching elements in an upper arm and lower arm in an inverter output opening time interval Td2, and, after current of a motor becomes zero, starts a brake control time interval TB. In the brake control time interval TB, the motor controller simultaneously turns on a plurality of switching elements in the upper arm or lower arm to short-circuit a coil of an electric motor to generate brake torque against reverse rotation. The minimum value of a time length of the inverter output opening time interval Td2 is previously determined on the basis of a time constant of the coil of the motor. The maximum value of the time length of the inverter output opening time interval Td2 is regulated so that no shortage of brake torque is caused by a brake delay.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
