Abstract:
To secure estimation accuracy of a magnetic pole position.SOLUTION: A motor controller comprises: an inverter for turning on arms of all arms to energize a motor having a rotor in a stopped or extremely low speed state, the arms varying among energization patterns; a current detector connected to a DC side of the inverter; and an initial position estimation unit for estimating an initial position, a magnetic pole position of the rotor in the state. The initial position estimation unit measures a first time until a value of current flowing through the current detector reaches a first current threshold after the arms are turned on in each energization pattern and measures a second time until the value of current flowing through the current detector reaches a second current threshold after the arms are turned on in a first energization pattern in which a voltage vector is generated in a first intermediate direction in a first angular range and in a second energization pattern in which a voltage vector is generated in a second intermediate direction in a second angular range to narrow down an angular range in which the magnetic pole position exists.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
