To provide a motor drive control device capable of suppressing generation of a harmonic current without causing cost increases or upsizing, and to provide a compressor, air blower, air conditioner, and refrigerator or freezer, using the same.
The motor drive control device comprises: a three-phase rectifier 2; a step-up converter 3; switching control means 10; a smoothing capacitor 7; an inverter circuit 12; inverter drive means 14; a bus bar current detector 8; an output voltage detector 9; a motor current detector 13 for detecting an electric current running through a motor; and unbalanced component detector 19 for detecting unbalancing of the motor based on an output of a motor current detector 13. The switching control means 10 determines an output voltage command value of the step-up converter 3, a bus bar current command value, and an on-duty of a switching element 5. The inverter drive means 14 controls so that an electric current running through each phase of the motor is balanced.
