Abstract:
To provide a motor drive device with a dynamic brake circuit and a regenerative brake circuit which efficiently applies a brake without giving a burden to an apparatus and while securing safety.SOLUTION: A motor drive device 1 comprises: a power supply unit 11 which supplies DC power to a DC link; an inverter 12 which performs power conversion between the DC power of the DC link and AC power which is drive power or regenerative power of a motor 3; a regenerative brake circuit 13 which short-circuits a DC side of the inverter 12 via a regenerative resistor 21 and brakes the motor 3 by generating a speed reduction torque therein; a dynamic brake circuit 14 which short-circuits input terminals of the motor 3 via a dynamic brake resistor 23 and brakes the motor 3 by generating a speed reduction torque therein; and a brake control unit 15 which outputs a brake-on command to at least one of the regenerative brake circuit 13 and the dynamic brake circuit 14 based on a rotation speed of the motor 3 and a motor parameter which is previously specified with regard to the motor 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
