To correctly memorize the correct position of a seat when motor power is transmitted to a movable member of the seat through a flexible member.
This motor-driven seat device 1 memorizes the seat position by transmitting the driving force from a motor 11a to a speed reducing mechanism 49 through the flexible member 50, by operating an upper rail 41 with respect to a lower rail 40 and by controlling the seat position based on a pulse signal from a sensor 8a installed in the motor 11a. A control means 10 counts the single pulse signal from the sensor 8a (S108); and in the case that a pulse signal reverse to the direction indicated by a switch 7a is inputted while the single pulse is monitored by continuing the count of the pulse signal for a predetermined period even after the pulse signal is no longer inputted (S112), the value of the counter memorizing the motor position is counted reversely to the rotational indication direction to the motor (S115), so that even if the motor 11a returns in the direction opposite to the indicated direction by the reactive force of the flexible member, the return value can be correctly detected.
