Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a rotation speed of a motor by prolonging a period of a dynamic brake due to an upper arm as further as possible in a motor drive device for executing the dynamic brake by using an inverter including a temperature protection function, and to provide the motor drive device at low cost.SOLUTION: A regenerative power reduction part 20 calculates a total ON time consisting of a total time of turning on upper arms during a switching period for each upper arm at all the time. When executing reduction of regenerative power, the regenerative power reduction part 20 extracts a maximum total ON time that is maximum among total ON times at the same time as a switching period just before start of reduction processing of regenerative power, from among internally stored total ON times, calculates a remaining operation time by subtracting the maximum total ON time from a maximum operation time of the upper arms drivable by a boot strap capacitor, and turns on all the upper arms just during a period of the remaining operation time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
