To provide a moving object tracking device which detects a moving object in an image accurately, even in an image whose background changes.
A moving object tracking device, which is a device for tracking a moving object in an image, detects the moving object in the image by applying image processing to time series images, and includes an object map storage unit, a contour extraction unit, and a correction unit. The object map storage unit allows each image in the time series images to be divided into a plurality of blocks, attaches an identification code indicating the moving object in the image to a block corresponding to the moving object, and stores the identification code. The contour extraction unit extracts the contour of the moving object from the time series images. The correction unit corrects the identification code of the block stored in the object map storage unit based on the contour extracted by the contour extraction unit.
