Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound useful as an antitumor agent.

CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I (U and V are alkyl, alkoxy or alkenyloxy; Y and Z are H or methyl; one of R1 and R2 is carbamoyloxymethyl and the other is H) such as 7-diamino-7-[bis(methoxycarbonyl)methyl]mytomycin C. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a compound of formula II with a salt which is prepared by treating a compound of formula III with a base, in an inert solvent (e.g. THF, acetonitrile, DMF, etc).
