PURPOSE: To obtain a navigation apparatus for a vehicle which can register a spot from a set destination or a periphery of the destination.
CONSTITUTION: When a departure spot, a destination are input by an input unit 19, a route calculator 22 calculates a route to the destination through a set stopover spot, and stores it in a route memory 24. A route guide controller 26 reads map information of a periphery of an own vehicle from a map information memory 10, superposes the present position of the own vehicle, an advancing direction and a route stored in the memory 24 and displays them on a display unit 28. When a spot registration mode is set from the unit 19, the map information of a periphery of the destination stored simultaneously with a route searched result is read in a destination information memory 24a of the memory 24, displayed on a display unit 28, and the spot of the periphery of the designation can be registered.
