PURPOSE: To stably keep an animal-repelling agent over a sufficiently lone period, and further, while securing the safety to human by forming a coating film not containing an animal-repelling agent on the surface of an animal- repelling film formed by applying an animal-repelling composition or the surface of an animal repellent-containing object for animal repelling.
CONSTITUTION: This animal-repelling material is obtained by mixing an animal- repelling composition in an object for animal repelling or applying it on the surface and subsequently further forming a coating film not containing an animal-repelling agent thereon. Preferable examples of the animal-repelling composition are a microcapsule of an animal-repelling agent and a mixture containing a microcapsule of an animal-repelling agent and a resin. As the animal-repelling agent, a capsaicine or cycloheximide is preferably used. This method can protect the animal-repelling agent and also secure the safety to human. This method is, therefore, suitable for protection of an electrical wiring, a packaged material, etc., from a biting damage by a rat, etc.
