Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a novel microalgae with high hydrocarbon productivity, and hydrocarbon.SOLUTION: The invention provides a novel microalgae Pseudococcomyxa sp. strain KJ (Accession number: FERM AP-22254) which has hydrocarbon productivity. The above novel microalgae has hydrocarbon productivity in the condition where the rate of nitrogen weight to the dry weight of a microalgae is less than 2 wt.%. The invention provides a method for producing hydrocarbon characterized by culturing any of the above novel microalgae to collect hydrocarbon from the culture.
