Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject nonwoven fabric having a good spinning property and less number of defective points of a nonwoven fabric by melt-spinning a composite fiber using a specific linear low density polyethylene as a sheath component and a PET as a core component under a specific condition to form a web, and heat-adhering the web by a heat treatment.

CONSTITUTION: This nonwoven fabric consisting of a heat-adhering fiber and having ≤0.01 number of defective points/kg, is obtained by melt-spinning a composite fiber using linear low density polyethylene containing 1-10 wt.% octene-1, having 0.900-0.940 g/cm2 density, 5-45 g/10 min melt index and ≥25 cal/g heat of fusion as a sheath component and a polyethylene terephthalate as a core component, and at 220-280°C and 275-295°C melt extruding temperatures for the sheath and core components, respectively, drawing the composite fiber material with an air-sucker, piling it over a metal net belt to form a web (single fiber fineness is ≤5 denier) and heat-treating the web at a temperature lower by 15-30°C than the melting point of the sheath component for heat-adhering.
