To obtain a nonwoven fabric consisting of a nonwoven fabric of a polyesterbased core sheath-type composite fiber containing an electro- conductive inorganic particles, having an antistatic property, also excellent in pleat processing property and suitable for a filter member.
This nonwoven fabric having <10μc/m2 amount of a triboelectric charge (JIS L1094-C method), ≥500mg bending resistance (Gurley stiffness test method) and 100g/m2 weight per a unit area is obtained by piling melt spun core sheath-type composite filaments in which a polyethylene terephthalate containing 0.2wt.% electro-conductive inorganic particles such as a carbon black based on the weight of the filament, is arranged in the core portion occupying 5-30wt.% total of the filament, and an isophthalic acid copolyester is arranged in the sheath portion, on a transferring conveyer to form a web after opening the filaments with a compressed air flow, and then partially heat press adhering the web by using a heated emboss roll.
