Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a high strength nonwoven fabric having a specific ratio of fiber to apparent volume and a specific single yarn strength, excellent in both of tensile strength and treating strength, and suitable as a material for construction and building by thermally fusing covering all the surface of a specific core sheath type composite filament consisting of two resins with mutually different melting points.

CONSTITUTION: A web using a core sheath type composite filament consisting of two kinds of thermoplastic resins having mutually different melting points wherein the resin with lower melting point has ≤3.5μm thickness and covers all the surface of another resin with higher melting point is thermally treated and the above-mentioned composite fibers are thermally fused totally to form the nonwoven fabric having 10-80% ratio of composite fibers to apparent volume of the nonwoven fabric, ≥3g/de single yarn strength of composite fibers after forming nonwoven fabric and capable of satisfying the formula Y5.X≥2×1013, where Y is tensile strength per gram of 1m2 nonwoven fabric and X is tearing strength. Y is preferably ≥200g/3cm width/g/m2 and X is preferably ≥20g/g/m2.
