To acquire a useful composition for diagnosis and medical treatment of an immune related disease in a mammal including humans; and to develop its method.
Protein (including agonist and antagonist antibody) PRO52254 polypeptide obtained as a result of stimulating immunoreaction of the mammal, and its agonist and antagonist are identified. The immune related disease can be treated by restraining or raising immunoreaction. The peptide stimulates or reinforces immunoreaction to an antigen. When improvement of immunoreaction is useful, the polypeptide can be used for treatment. Alternatively, when relief of immunoreaction is useful (for example, inflammation), molecules (for example, neutralizing antibody) softening or reducing immunoreaction to the antigen can be used for treatment. Consequently, the polypeptide is useful in order to prepare a medicine and a drug for treatment of the immune related disease and an inflammation disease.
