Abstract:

To provide a novel fluorene compound having light emission characteristics, charge transport performance and the like.

An ester of a dicarboxylic acid represented by formula (1a) and a compound represented by formula (1b) are caused to react in the presence of a base. In the formulae, R¹, R³ and R⁴ are identical or different, and are a hydrogen atom or a substituent; R² is a substrate; m is an integer of 0 to 3; and two R¹ may bond to each other to form a ring.
