Abstract:
To provide a novolak type resin which has a low melt viscosity and gives a cured product having high heat resistance, and to provide a method for efficiently producing the same.
This method for producing the novolak type resin, characterized by dissolving resorcinol in water, subjecting the dissolved resorcinol to a condensation reaction with added paraformaldehyde and then distilling away the water from the reaction solution under heated and pressure-reduced conditions.
