Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening and closing apparatus for a collet chuck which can stably open and close a collet chuck of a double taper type on both end sides of a cylindrical body of which taper surfaces are formed.SOLUTION: By advancement of an opening and closing sleeve 17 which is slidably inserted into a hollow cylindrical body for accommodating a collet chuck 4 in which taper surfaces 9, 11 are formed on both end sides of a cylindrical body 8, the opening and closing sleeve 17 presses the taper surface 11 on a rear side of the collet chuck 4, and in such a pressed state, contacts a collar 21, which is interposed between the opening and closing sleeve 17 and the collet chuck 4 via a predetermined clearance S. By pressing the collet chuck 4 against a cap 14 via the collar 21, both of front and rear sides of the collet chuck 4 is so operated as to be closed.
