PURPOSE: To improve the production rate of sintering ore and decomposition rate of lime by charging mixed and humidified pellets of coke powder and limestone powder and humidified pellets of compounded raw materials for sintering onto bedding ore in such a manner that sectional shape of the boundary faces between said pellets has an arc-shaped bowl shape opened in the upper part.
CONSTITUTION: A raw material mixture composed of coke powder and limestone powder having ≤5mm grain size and the compounded raw materials for sintering are respectively humidified and pelletized to form the mixed and humidified pellets 82 of the coke powder and limestone powder and the humidified pellets 83 of the compounded raw material for sintering. The mixed and humidified pellets 82 are charged between a pallet side wall 9, the humidified pellets 83 for compounded raw material for sintering and the bedding ore 81 while the mixed and humidified pellets 82 are parted at a prescribed space (1/2 the max. pallet width) in the lower central part of the pallet to prevent mixing of the two pellets 82, 83. The section shape at the pallet width of the boundary faces between the pellets 82 and the pellets 83 is thereby formed to the arc-shaped bowl shape opened in the upper part. The quicklime having high activity is thus obtd.
