To provide a method for operating a drawing device in a fiber machine, enabling to surely hook any fiber without relating to the property of the fiber and a drawing condition and further enabling to reoperate the device without breaking the fiber in the fiber-hooked state by controlling the rotation speeds of plural rollers disposed in a fiber travel direction at a specific ratio.

A processor-controller(PC) 60 for controlling the invertors 10, 20, 30 of roller-driving systems for feeding, drawing and taking the fiber, respectively, is connected to the graphic terminal 70 of an input means through a communication line 80. Such the main-subordinate relations as the downstream side is main on the starting and accelerating treatments of the device and as the upstream side is main on the speed-reducing and stopping treatments of the device are set between the rollers, and the subordinate speed is controlled on the basis of the main speed in such a ratio that the output response retardation of the subordinate speed does not cause the looseness of the fiber. The operation method can also easily correspond to the change of the fiber into the other kind of the fiber.
