To reduce a nitrogen oxide concentration in an exhaust gas by application of non-catalytic denitrification reaction.
In an operation method of an exhaust gas circulation type thermal power plant having a combustion device which performs O2 stoichiometric ratio combustion, a reduction target value of the nitrogen oxide concentration in the exhaust gas G discharged from a combustor 2 (combustion device) is predetermined, the basic supply amount of a denitrifying agent is determined beforehand on the basis of the reduction target value and the predicted value of the nitrogen oxide concentration in the exhaust gas G, and a temperature suitable for the denitrification reaction of the nitrogen oxide concentration in the exhaust gas G and reaction time to be secured are obtained by performing numerical analysis. A position 6a to supply the denitrifying agent to the exhaust gas G is determined on the basis of the obtained temperature suitable for the denitrification reaction and reaction time to be secured, the basic supply amount of the denitrifying agent is supplied to the determined position, the nitrogen oxide concentration in the exhaust gas is measured at a position where the denitrification reaction has sufficiently progressed, and feedback control of the supply amount of the denitrifying agent is performed so as to turn a measured value to the reduction target value.
