Abstract:

To provide an optical component and an optical communication system in which a miniaturization is realized, and the temperature of a diffraction grating part of an optical fiber is compensated.

An optical component 1 has a grating optical fiber 2, and a first supporting member 4 and a second supporting member 5 which support the grating optical fiber 2. The first supporting member 4 has a supporting part 6, and a fiber insertion port 7 is formed on the supporting part 6. One side part of the grating optical fiber 2 is inserted into the fiber insertion port 7 with respect to a refraction grating part 3, thus the grating optical fiber 2 is adhered and fixed on the supporting part 6. The second supporting member 5 is formed with a material different from that of the first supporting member 4. The second supporting member 5 is adhered and fixed on the end face 4b on the opposite side of the supporting part 6 at the first supporting member 4. The other side part of the grating optical fiber 2 is adhered and fixed with respect to the diffraction grating part 3 on the upper face of the the second supporting member 5.
