To keep the maximum and average transfer rate without increasing amount of buffer memory by dividing the recording area of a recording zone into the number of information systems and then recording the information of the same system on the time division basis respectively.

The digital video information pieces A12, B17 of the two systems stored respectively in the buffer memories A14, B19 are selected with a switch 110 and information is read in the adequate capacity unit from the buffer memory A14. On the occasion of recording such information on the optical disk 113 with an optical head 112, the recording area of the k-th zone for the recording is divided previously for both digital videos information pieces A and B in regard to the radius direction. After this recording, the optical head 112 is shifted to the track where the desired sector of the inner most circumference of the recording area for digital video information B exists. This seek does not require any change of number of revolutions and seek time is very short because the seek is conducted in the same zone.
