Title:
OPTICAL RECORDING MATERIAL ENABLING REWRITING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03296047
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an optical recording material enabling rewriting and ensuring a practical number of repetitions by forming a ceramic layer having a specified thickness and practically transmitting light for recording as an overcoat layer.

CONSTITUTION: A ceramic layer having 10-500nm thickness and practically transmitting light for recording is formed as the overcoat layer of a recording material having a recording layer contg. fine metallic Ag particles dispersed in a hydrophobic binder. At least an Ag compd., a hydrophobic binder and a reducing agent are dissolved or dispersed in an org. solvent to prepare a coating liq., this coating liq. is applied to a substrate and dried and developing nuclei of Ag or a nobler metal than Ag are formed on the surface of the resulting film. A recording material having satisfactory repetitive characteristics at the time of recording and erasing is obtd. and a low-cost practical digital recording material enabling rewriting and having superior shelf stability is obtd.
