Abstract:

PURPOSE: To secure the accurate detection for the small piece of the optical reflector and thus to decrease the number of photo sensors by arraying two rows of the photo sensors in zigzag and then securing the correspondence between the installation pitch and the optical reflector.

CONSTITUTION: Small piece Al foil 15 such as the number slip of the registered mail or the like is put right under photo sensor S3. And output EWG which detected the characters, patterns and others among output DWG of four maximun value selection circuits 23W26 are smaller than output D which detected foil 15 if no optical reflector exists other than detected object 14, and the mutual voltage difference is also small. As a result, the output of 27 among differential amplifiers 27W30 features the positive maximum along with 28 showing the negative maximum and other amplifiers showing the zero output respectively. Then maximum value detection circuit 31 consisting of diodes DH1WDH4 selects the output of amplifier 27, and transmits output J when the output of amplifier 27 is larger than comparison voltage E2. In case sensor S3 is out of the position right under foil 15, the output difference of amplifiers 27W30 is compared with voltage E2 for transmission of detection output J.
