Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain sufficient rigidity and to increase scanning speed by arranging >=2 arrays of optical waveguides each formed of clad parts and a core part on a light projection part side in the scanning direction of light and arranging one array of optical waveguides on a light incidence side. CONSTITUTION:The optical waveguide array 1 is equipped with base materials 3 and 4, clad parts 5 and 6 provided in the base materials 3 and 4, and a core part 7 surrounded with the clad parts 5 and 6, >=2 arrays of optical waveguides a1 - a3, and b1 - b4 consisting of the clad parts 5 and 6 and core part 7 are arranged on the light projection part side in the scanning direction of the light, and one array of optical waveguides b1 - b4 are arranged on the light incident part side. Therefore, when light is made incident on the respective optical waveguides in order on the light incident part side by using a rotary light source, >=2 arrays of light are projected on the projection part side by the incidence of the light in one turn of the rotary light source. Consequently, the shapes and materials of the base materials can be selected optionally, so the optical waveguide array which has desired rigidity is obtained and the scanning speed is increased.
