Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an excellent fit by forming an orthopedic sheet-shaped composition for use in covering and holding in place a wounded part such as a fracture and a distorsion, having a flexible sheet impregnated with a viscous hydraulic resin which cures when exposed to water and covered with double-sided solid knitting at both sides thereof.
CONSTITUTION: This orthopedic sheet-shaped composition comprises double-sided solid knitting 2, 3 disposed on both sides of a rectangular sheet 1 impregnated with a hydraulic resin. The double-sided solid knitting 2, 3 is slightly larger in area so that the sheet 1 does not project from the periphery of the double- sided solid knitting 2, 3. A variety of sheets and resins/impregnating the sheet are employed which are conventionally used in orthopedic hydraulic plaster bandages. The double-sided solid knitting is fabricated by a double raschel machine which knits surface and back portions using natural or artificial fiber or both and connects both of the portions together at a connecting portion at the same time to form cloth.
