Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a packaging material effective for preventing the surface damage of a packaging object having soft skin such as peach and yam during transportation by adding a softening agent to at least the uppermost layer pulp of a molded pulp article produced by a multi-layer paper-making process, thereby softening the surface layer contacting with the packaging object.
CONSTITUTION: Pulp slurry obtained by the defibration of waste newspaper is incorporated with 0.1-5.0wt.% (based on the pulp) of a paper softener. The obtained forming slurry is used for at least the uppermost layer of a molded pulp article formed by a multi-layer paper-making process to form a packaging material having plural hemispherical recesses. Packaging materials having soft skin such as peach and yarn are placed in the recesses of the packaging material, sealed with an upper lid and packaged. Since the surface layer contacting with the packaging object has soft texture, there is no surface damage of the packaging object during transportation.
