To prevent damages of a protuberance section itself at one end edge in the longitudinal direction of a packed article, and other sections due to the protuberance from occurring, and prevent a protruding section at the lower end edge of the packed article from being deformed.
For this packing box, a packing member is equipped with a bottom surface section which covers at least the lower end edge of the packed article, and one end surface section which covers one end edge in the longitudinal direction of the packed article. Then, a first valley-shape folding section, a second valley-shape folding section, and a ridge-shape folding section are provided. In this case, the first valley-shape folding section is connected to one end in the longitudinal direction of the bottom surface section through a first valley- shape folding line. The second valley-shape folding section is connected to the first valley-shape folding section through a second valleyshape folding line. The ridge-shape folding section is connected to the second valley-shape folding section through a ridge-shape folding line. Then, the first and second valley-shape folding sections are folded into a doubly superposed state along the first and second valley-shape folding lines. In this case, the second valley-shape folding section is confronted by the protuberance at one end edge in the longitudinal direction of the packed article. Thus, the first valley-shape folding section is provided in a manner to come into contact with one end surface section. Then, the ridge-shape folding section is folded along the ridge-shape folding line in such a manner that the ridge-shape folding section may be confronted by the lower end edge of the packed article. Thus, the ridge-shape folding section is provided in a manner to come into contact with the bottom surface section.
