To provide a paper feeding device capable of feeding a paper stably even if the paper stored in a storage part is folded.
A pick-up roller 3 is rotated to feed a paper money 10 on the uppermost face after detecting that height of a tip part in the direction of feeding in the paper money 10 on the uppermost face accumulated and stored in a paper money cartridge 1 becomes proper height by a tip detection lever 6 abutted on the tip part in the direction of feeding in the paper money 10 on the uppermost face. Since the tip detection lever 6 forms an inclined face extending to a nip and holding position of a feed roller 4 and a gate roller 5 from an abutting position on the paper money 10 when the height of the tip part in the direction of feeding in the paper money 10 on the uppermost face becomes proper height, the fed paper money 10 is guided to an abutting position of the feed roller 4 and the gate roller 5 by the inclined face, thereby feeding the paper money 10 stably.
