Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a papermaking machine containing a calender apparatus for a paperboard, carrying out surface modification of a paper having high basis weight while using a shoe calender and controlling the thickness of paper at a same time.
SOLUTION: In the papermaking machine containing the calender apparatus, the thickness of the paper 107 is adjusted by a paper thickness adjusting apparatus 200 provided on the upstream side of the shoe calender 100 and then, surface treatment of the paper 107 is carried out by a shoe calender 100 installed in a post step of a drier process.
