Title:
PHASE CHANGE OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0644606
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a phase change optical recording medium having specified reflectance values before and after recording and capable of reproduction with a commercially available optical disk reproducing device only for reproduction.

CONSTITUTION: The recording film 3 of a recording medium is made of an InSe-based material and the compsn. of the recording film 3 and the thicknesses of the recording film 3 and a transparent dielectric film 2 are controlled so as to satisfy 3.0<(ko/k) in the case of 0.8<(n/ no)≤1 and (ko/k)≤3.0 in the case of 0.2≤(n/no)≤0.8 when the refractive index and extinction coefft. of the recording medium before recording and those of the recording medium after recording are expressed by (no), (ko), (n) and (k), respectively. The reflectance of the recording medium can be regulated to 70% before recording and to ≤28% after recording.
