To provide a phthalocyanine compound which is soluble in various organic solvents at room temperature, has an excellent workability for film- forming or the like and provides a film which has high optical and thermal properties and can exhibit a high performance for a use such as CD-R or the like.
The phthalocyanine compound is shown in general formula (1) (wherein 1-16 indicate the positions of circumfencial carbon atoms, M is a silicon atom, X is a heterocyclic group having two or more nitrogen atoms as its hetero atoms and Y and Z are each a halogen atom, a hydroxy group, -O-R, -O-CO-R or -O-SOO-R, wherein R is an alkyl group, an aryl group, or a group constituting a heterocyclic aromatic compound or a group constituting a metal complex compound).
