Abstract:
PURPOSE:To secure floating of a caliper for transmitting reactions and facilitate a countermeasure to prevent rusting by peripheral revolution of a pin and a boss, also to increase pinching force of friction pads against a disk by receiving a torque of the caliper upon braking. CONSTITUTION:When hydraulic pressure is delivered into an oil chamber 6, a piston 7 is forwarded in a cylinder 5 and an inner friction pad 9 is pushed against a disk 1. Due to a reaction force thereof, a caliper 2 oscillates around a supporting pin 14 and a leg portion 4 pushes an outer friction pad 10 against the disk 1, and thereby, the disk 1 is braked by the friction pads 9, 10. Brake torque generated in the friction pads 9, 10 acts as a moment rotating the caliper 2 in a direction shown by an arrow sign B. A guidance of the oscillation of the caliper 2 is effected by only a relative peripheral rotation between the supporting pin 14 and a boss portion 13 of a caliper 2, and sealing thereof may be effected easily by providing seal rings 17, 18.
