A pixel array for an electroluminescent display or a liquid crystal display is provided. The pixel array includes a scan line; a plurality of data lines; a plurality of light-emitting elements or display electrodes, having a display area and a non-display area; and a plurality of electrical addressing devices which are located in the non-display area of the plurality of light-emitting element or display electrodes and connect the light-emitting element or the display electrode to the corresponding data line and scan line, respectively. The non-display areas of the adjacent light-emitting elements or display electrodes are arranged mutually alternately.
