Abstract:

To reduce cooling time during a molding cycle to improve production efficiency by reducing a thickness in the vicinity of a gate trace of a thin injection-molded plastic container having a ratio of the maximum distance from the gate trace to a container outer rim to a container thickness of a specific value or more within a range of a specific ratio from the container thickness.

In a thin injection-molded plastic container 2 wherein a ratio of the maximum distance from a gate trace 10 to a container outer periphery and a container thickness is 80 or more, a thickness T2 in the vicinity of the gate trace 10 is reduced so that a ratio T2/T1 is 0.5 to 0.7 where the container 2 thickness is T1. A range of a thin bottom 11 is 2 to 10 times a gate diameter with the gate trace 10 as the center, and further a vicinity of the gate trace 10 is formed in a recess by a stepped face 12. Thus cooling time during an injection-molding cycle can be largely reduced without lowering container strength and without being noticeable in appearance.
