To provide the subject winder having such a construction that a gear transmission means 2 consisting of a pair of bevel gears or hyperboloidal gears is mounted on a base plate 1 so that the output shaft 20a is projected from one face side toward the other face side, a transmission shaft 3 having a handle 4 on the tip is linked to the input shaft 21a of the gear transmission means 2 so as to be at least slightly swingable, and the transmission shaft 3 thus linked is guided to a guide 10 provided on one face side of the base plate 1 and extended from the base plate 1; and enabling the rotation of a winding shaft 5 linked to the output shaft 2a to be temporarily stopped by the slight operation of the transmission shaft 3.

This winder is characterized by having such a scheme that a projected stopper 11 is provided on such a part of the base plate 1 as to stand against the transmission shaft 3, while the transmission shaft 3 is furnished with an engagement part 30 to be engaged on the stopper 11 when the part 30 swings to the base plate 1 side.
