To provide a pneumatic tire increased in the rigidity of the tire and enhanced in the operation index of the tire without accompanying the increase in the weight of the tire and without causing the large lowering of a fatigue index.

This pneumatic tire is reinforced wit cords each made by twisting either one kind of filaments selected from organic filaments having non-circular and outward projected cross sections, respectively, and steel filaments each having an outward projected cross section and having a circumscribed circle(R)/inscribed circle (r) ratio expressed by the inequality: 1.1≤<1.5. The pneumatic tire reinforced with cords made by twisting the filaments having one or more hollow parts therein is more preferable.
