Abstract:

To provide a lightweight polyacrylonitrile (PAN) based carbon fiber sheet without occupying much space, having high strength when used or processed and preventing resin bleeding to the back surface when treating only one surface during resin treatment such as water repellent treatment.

This carbon fiber sheet 2 comprises a PAN based carbon opened fiber material 4 prepared by opening along the fiber axis, PAN based carbon fiber nonwoven fabrics or webs 6 and 8 laminated onto one or both surfaces of the opened fiber material 4 and interlaced the carbon fibers 10 obtained by interlacing fibers of the opened fiber material 4 with the nonwoven fabric or the webs 6 and 8 in the thickness direction. In the carbon fiber sheet 2, the weight is 15-250 g/m2 and the tensile strength in the longitudinal direction is ≥78. The tensile elongation in the longitudinal direction is 1.5-10% and the ratio of the tensile strength in the longitudinal direction to the weight is 1.7-10.5.
