Abstract:

To provide a polyamide composition having excellent anti-aging properties for a flexible pipe for transporting oil or gas.

This composition comprises, by weight: 70-96% of at least one polyamide selected from PA-11, PA-12, an aliphatic polyamide obtained by condensation of 6-12C aliphatic diamine with 9-12C aliphatic diacid, and 11/12 copolyamide containing 90% or more nylon-11 unit or 90% or more nylon-12 unit; 4-10% of a plasticizer; and 0-25% of NBR or H-NBR elastomer, provided that the total amount of the plasticizer and the elastomer is 4-30%. This composition can be produced by melt-mixing respective components according to a standard process of thermoplastic resins. This polyamide composition is useful for pipes used especially in oil and gas development at offshore, also useful for automobile pipes. Further the pipe can withstand temperatures under the automobile hood and aging caused by fluids to be transported.
