Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester resin excellent in transparency, heat resistance, mechanical characteristics and smell retaining properties, useful as a container for foods and beverages and a packaging material. SOLUTION: This polyester resin has <=10 ppm liberated ethylene glycol content, <=30 ppm increased amount of liberated monohydroxyethyl terephthalate content, <=60 ppm increased amount of liberated bishydroxyethyl terephthalate content, <=70 ppm of total increased amounts of the liberated monohydroxyethyl terephthalate content and the liberated bishydroxyethyl terephthalate content and <=150 ppm increased amount of a liberated bishydroxyethyl terephthalate dimer content and comprises an ethylene terephthalate unit as a main component. A sheetlike material and a blow molding product comprise the polyester resin.
