Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester resin excellent in transparency, heat resistance, mechanical characteristics and smell retaining properties, useful as a container for foods and beverages and a packaging material.
SOLUTION: This polyester resin has ≤20 ppm liberated ethylene glycol content, ≤70 ppm liberated monohydroxyethyl terephthalate content, ≤100 ppm liberated bishydroxyethyl terephthalate content, ≤150 ppm of the total amounts of the liberated monohydroxyethyl terephthalate content and the liberated bishydroxyethyl terephthalate content and ≤350 ppm of a liberated bishydroxyethyl terephthalate dimer content and comprises an ethylene terephthalate unit as a main repeating unit. A sheetlike material and a blow molding product comprise the polyester resin.
