Title:
POLYMER SCALE DEPOSITION INHIBITOR AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING POLYMER SCALE FROM DEPOSITING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04342701
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To safely and efficiently prevent polymer scales from depositing and obtain a polymer of a high whiteness by forming a film containing a hydroxyanthraquinone compound and water-soluble basic polysaccharides on the inner wall surface of a polymerizer and polymerizing an unsaturated monomer. CONSTITUTION:A monomer (e.g. vinyl chloride) having ethylenic double bond is polymerized in a polymerizer. In the process, the inner wall surface is precoated with a coating solution composed of a solution of (A) a hydroxyanthraquinone compound (e.g. alizarin) and (B) water-soluble basic polysaccharides (e.g. chitosan) in methanol for preventing polymer scales from depositing. The formed coating is then heated and dried at 40 deg.C for 15min to form a film, which is washed with water. Water, an unsaturated polymer such as the vinyl chloride, a dispersing agent composed of partially saponified PVA and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose and a polymerization initiator such as diisopropyl peroxydicarbonate are then filled in the polymerizer and polymerization is subsequently carried out at 57 deg.C for 6hr while stirring the polymerization mixture to afford the objective polymer of a high whiteness.
