NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I {A, B, Y and Z are together H or A and B and Y and Z together form single bond; n is an integer 1W3; X is formula II[R2 is formula III (R3 is H or lower alkyl; m is an integer 1W5), etc.; R1 is H, lower alkyl or halogen] or formula IV (K and L are h or K and L together form single bond), etc.}.
EXAMPLE: 2-Palmitoylamino-2-ethyl-1,3-propanediol.
USE: An antithrombotic agent having anti PAF action and antithrombin action.
PREPARATION: A polyprenylcarboxylic acid of formula V or a reactive derivative thereof is amidated with an amine in a solvent, e.g. dioxane or tetrahydrofurna, to afford the aimed compound of formula I .
