PURPOSE: To obtain a porous body having the function possessed by a functional substance in addition to buffering properties and damping properties by adding the functional substance to a silicone gel having many voids formed thereto.

CONSTITUTION: Particles having higher solubility, shrinkability or heat- disappearing properties as compared with a silicone gel are mixed with the raw solution before curing of the silicone gel and a functional substance is further mixed therewith. After the raw solution is cured, the particles are eluted by a solvent, or shrunk by drying or removed by heating to obtain a porous body having voids formed to the regions where the particles are present and containing the functional substance. As the functional substance, a deodorant, an aromatic agent, a pesticide, an insecticide, an insect attracting agent, an insect repelling agent and an moisture absorbing agent can be used. The silicone gel can be made porous by adapting a drying/shrinking method, an elution method, a microwave heating method or a thermal removing method. The drying/shrinking method is one drying and shrinking the swollen particles mixed with the silicone gel to remove the same.
