A digital camera 1 comprises an exterior body 10, a photographing lens 11, a stroboscope 12, a reel portion 20, a hook 30, etc. The reel portion 20 is biased by a spring and configured to take up the lead 31. A user draws the hook 30 in an upward direction in Fig., and then the lead 31 stored in the reel portion 20 is drawn out. A photointerrupter 28 is disposed in the reel portion 20 to detect the rotation of the reel due to the extension/contraction of the lead 31; and the digital camera 1 performs a camera operation corresponding to the detection result thereof.
