To provide a portable luminaire for a musical score stand for illuminating a description on a musical score readably by mounting the luminaire on the back face or pad of the musical score stand.

This luminaire is provided with illumination means 10 provided with a first opening 12a for illuminating light from a lateral direction, a first coupling member 11 movably pivoted at one end of a first rotary shaft 11b for directing a longitudinal direction of the illumination means 10, and a base stand 22 having a flat face part 22j, and is provided with pinching means 20 movable pivoted with its shaft being a fourth rotary shaft 22h substantially vertical to the longitudinal direction of the base stand 22, energized by means of a spring 22I, and provided with a second rotary shaft 21d vertical to the flat face part 22j and a second coupling member 21 movably pivoted at the base stand 22 with its a shaft being a second rotary shaft 22d vertical to the flat face part 22j and pivotally supported at the first coupling member 11 with its shaft being a third rotary shaft 11d vertical to both of the second rotary shaft 11d and the first rotary shaft 11b.
