Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make possible the detection of all the position data of a moving object and achieve higher maintenance characteristic and economy by providing a phased array scan antenna on the satellite.

CONSTITUTION: The azimuth and elevation angle of the position of a moving object 2 viewed from a spin satellite 4 and their fluctuation amounts are obtained from the angle of the satellite 4 to a reference direction 9 with respect to the celestial body 8. For this purpose, a phased array scan antenna 10 is mounted to the satellite 4 and the transmission radio wave of the moving object 2 are swepted by making use of the directivity of said antenna, whereby the direction having a maximum gain is obtained. By detecting the angle of the satellite from the reference direction 9, the azimuth 15 and vertical angle 16 to the moving object 2 are detected. In this way, all the position data of the position, moving direction and speed of the moving object 2 may be detected on the satellite 4.
