To obtain a powder coating composition which has excellent curability and can form a coating film being excellent in finish, adhesion, water-resistance, corrosion resistance, flavor retentivity, etc., and has high processability.
There is provided a powder coating composition containing (A) a bisphenol or novolac type epoxy resin having a softening point of 50-140°C and an epoxy equivalent of 180-4,000,(B) a high-acid-value polyester resin obtained by the addition reaction of a polybasic acid with a hydroxyl-containing polyester resin prepared by reacting an acid component containing 80-100 mol.%, aromatic dicarboxylic acid with an alcohol component containing 88-100 mol.% ethylene glycol and having a number-average molecular weight of 1,000-4,000, an acid value of 120-200 mgK0H/g, and a softening point of 50-140°C, and (C) a curing catalyst, wherein the molar ratio of the epoxy groups of epoxy resin A to the carboxyl groups of polyester resin B is 2/1 to 1/2.
